+ WHAT CREWMEMBER CAREERS ARE POSSIBLE WITHIN PRIVATE AVIATION?
Upon graduating from SKYacademy you can choose to pursue a career as either a contract crewmember or full-time employment working for a private Flight Operator and/or private aircraft owners. Both have their advantages, depending on your circumstances.
As a contract crewmember you will get to make your own schedule by accepting the trips you want. However, be mindful, saying "no" too many times lessens your chances of being called again to fulfill a trip as you become a less reliable resource.
With full-time employment, your schedule is not your own, however, you can count on a steady income from month to month as well as other benefits like healthcare, 401K, bonus', etc.
+ HOW MUCH CAN I EXPECT TO EARN AS A FLIGHT ATTENDANT IN PRIVATE AVIATION?
As a contract Flight Attendant you have the potential to make more money than a full-time employee if you've made a positive name for yourself and have good connections. Flight Attendant pay as a contract crewmember ranges between $400 and $700 per day.
Full-time Flight Attendant salaries range between $40K and $150K per year.
In both cases, earnings are dependent on a few key factors; experience, certifications, flight schedule, responsibilities, location, benefits offered and international vs domestic travel.
+ DO YOU HAVE TO BE A CERTAIN AGE TO FIND WORK AS A CORPORATE FLIGHT ATTENDANT?
Most operators hire based on skills and ability to perform the requirements of the career. We have had ladies attend SKYacademy ranging in all ages up into their 50s. Your success landing a job within the industry depends more on your drive and dedication to securing a career in this field more so than your age.

+ I AM A COMMERCIAL FLIGHT ATTENDANT BUT WOULD LIKE TO EXPLORE A CAREER IN PRIVATE AVIATION. WHAT IS THE BEST TRAINING COURSE FOR ME?
A career as a Flight Attendant in Private Aviation is very different from that of a commercial flight attendant and requires different skills and training. If you are switching careers from commercial aviation into Private Aviation you will need to complete SkyAngels All-inclusive Training Course. Apply here.
+ WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WORKING IN COMMERCIAL AVIATION AND PRIVATE AVIATION?
Although both industries are within aviation, they are completely different and each offer their own advantages depending on your circumstances.
One advantage of working within Private Aviation is that you get to enjoy the destinations you fly to. Unlike commercial flight crew, private crewmembers stay with the aircraft at the destination. This means if your guests are staying in Bora Bora, so are you!
You can learn more about the other differences here.
+ HOW LONG IS TRAINING?
All-inclusive training consists of two parts; online training and practical training. The online training is comprised of 8 modules that can be completed from anywhere in the world. The practical training runs over a course of five days at our training facility in Santa Rosa.
+ WHERE AND WHEN DOES TRAINING TAKE PLACE?
Training takes place at our training facility in Santa Rosa on the second week of each month.
Training for our All-inclusvie, G550, Etiquette and In-flight & hospitality courses take place from Monday to Friday. Training for our General Emergency Crewmember course takes place on Friday.
+ DOES SKYANGELS LOOK AFTER TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION COSTS WHILE AT SKYACADEMY TRAINING?
Travel and accommodation is the responsibility of the student however we do offer recommendations on nearby accommodation options.
+ DO I HAVE TO RELOCATE?
You do not need to relocate to become a SkyAngel. You can live anywhere you want, but you will need to travel to California for training. Nevertheless, you do want to live in an area with private jet activity and opportunity. Most metropolitan areas and international airports are great areas to live near. If you are still not sure, research "private jet FBOs" (basically these are private jet terminals) in your area. If your local airport/s have FBO's located at them, then you are in luck. If not, you may need to relocate to find work.
